Bertha Diane King, age 73, passed away peacefully at Hospice House Satilla January 08, 2026, after an extended illness. She was born in Bacon County August 15, 1952, to the late Alton "Dink" Boatright, Sr. and Bertha Ray Boatright. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Thomas Alton King; brothers, Alton, Jr., Kenneth, Sammy, and Roger Boatright and her sister, Shirley McLure.

She was a member of Jesus Church of Scuffletown for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry King; sons, Jason King (Mary) and Ben King (Amanda), both of Mershon; brother, Ricky "Hipp" Boatright (Tammie) of Alma; sisters, Charlotte Conner of Jesup and Joyce Cason of Alma; grandchildren, Jaylon Boatright (Karlee), Drew Shadron (Kalyssa), Jacob Stewart, Dixie Massey, Sennie Ann King, Mason Dixon King, Kirsty Marie Parse (Joe), Kayla LaShae McNair (Jamal), and Megan Moore (Dustin); and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 12, 2026, at 2 PM at Jesus Church of Scuffletown with Pastor Jason King, Pastor Joe Thigpen and Pastor Marcus Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Crosby Funeral Home Sunday night from 6-8 PM.

Active pallbearers include Cody Lunsford, Mike Lunsford, Archie Boatright, Sr., Larry Boatright, Mark Boatright, Donnie White, Jr., and Jason Waters

All in attendance will be considered honorary pallbearers.
