Don Edgar Varnadore, age 81, of Alma passed away at his residence Friday morning (August 26, 2022) after an extended illness.  Mr. Don was born on August 15, 1941 in Alma to the late Edgar Varnadore and Lillie Merle Holton Varnadore.  He served in the US Army and was a member of Unity Baptist Church where he served as song leader for over 50 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step mother, Mammie Varnadore, brother, Larry Conner and sisters, Judy Simmons and Frankie Barber.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Music Varnadore; son, Jonathan Varnadore and wife Brandi; granddaughter, Stella Varnadore of Alma; sisters, Joann Barber of Alma, Glenda Wildes and husband Preston of St. Mary's, Ollie Mae White of MacClenny, FL; brother-in- law, Sonny Simmons of Baxley and sister-in-law, Melissa Conner of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Monday (August 29, 2022) at 2:00 PM at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davis, Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. David Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Clyde Varnadore, Ed Barber, Jeffery Simmons, Harrison Simmons, Andy Lewis and Jerry Tanner. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
