Donna Jo Taylor, age 73, of Alma died suddenly Saturday afternoon July 27th, 2013 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Joe Taylor and Vera Aldridge Taylor, a brother, Ronnie Taylor, a sister, Annette Turner. Donna Jo was a very active member of Big Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Wendell Taylor of Alma, a son Richie Taylor of Alma, a daughter, Angie Branch (Randy) of Baxley, a brother, Stevie Taylor (Diane) of Alma, a sister, Patsy Fountain of Commerce, GA, three grandchildren, Shane and Brandon Branch of Baxley, Kandis Hayes of Jamestown, two great-grandchildren, Taylor Branch of Baxley and Lexie Lane of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 o'clock at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Miller, Rev. Mark Ledbetter and Rev. Bill Stone officiating and eulogy by Pasty Fountain. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:00 P M to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 9 P M.
Active pallbearers will be; Shane and Brandon Branch, Cole Seagraves, Corey, Tony and Curtis Taylor. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
