Donnie Duncan Buckins, age 73, of Mershon passed away September 4, 2024 at his residence after an extended illness.  He was born May 19, 1951 in Bacon County to James Harold Buckins and Hazel Purvis Buckins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Sue Barnes Buckins, son, Austin Humphries and brother, Harold Buckins.

Mr. Buckins served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of Coffee Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include three children, Donnie Joe Humphries (Kimberlea), Kira Johnson (Cory) and Lindsey Gilby, brothers, Ronnie Buckins (Deborah) and Johnny Buckins, sister, Patricia Martin (Tony); also 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Delk officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until service time.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
