Donnie Ray Lane, age 69, of Alma passed away suddenly Sunday, August 14th at the Bacon County Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1946 to the late Clyde Jenningston Lane and Margarite Carter Strader and preceded in death by his step-father Jimmy Strader. He was retired from CSX Railroad, served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Alma Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Connie Allen Lane, three sons, Jason Lane, Jason Dyal and Alan Dyal (Hannah) all of Alma, one daughter Donna Lane Metts (Roger Jr.) of Hazlehurst, two brothers, Harry Lane (Kay) and Larry Lane (Betty) of Blackshear, one step-sister, Mary Frances Thornton; also 7 grandchildren, Bailey, Britt and Bentlee Metts of Hazlehurst, Lexie Lane of Alma, Aly Grace, Carter and Adalyne Dyal of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 17th at 11:00 at the Alma Church of God with Rev. Travis Peavy officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Austin Williams, Jasper Allen, Dusty Allen, Scott Lane, Harry Lane, Jr. and Derrick Lane. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
