Donnie Gene Lee, Sr. age 76, of Nicholls passed away on September 5, 2020 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida after a short illness. He was born on January 10, 1944 to Prince Albert Lee, Sr. and Ada Kirkland Lee. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and sister-in laws, J. V. (Sarah) and P. A. (Shirley) Lee, sisters and brother-in laws, Christine (Frank) Brown, Geraldine Lee Carter and Lois (Tommy) Nettles and a granddaughter Holly Lee. Mr. Lee retired from D. L. Lee and Sons after 30 years of employment.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dollie Ruis Lee of Nicholls, three children, Donnie Gene Lee, Jr. (Theresa) of Blackshear, Diane Marie Lee and Connie Lee Harrison (Chris) of Douglas, two brothers, Carlos Lee of Jacksonville, FL. and Virgil Lee (Elaine) of Douglas, grandchildren, Julisa Marie Nunn, Jessica Lee Nunn, Summer Lee Wade and Walker Vaughn Lee, step grandchildren, Joshua, Kaitlyn and Caleb Alvarez, Brooklyn, Grace and Jacob Harrison, great-grandchildren, Bentley Asher Lee Wade, Layla and Liam Wade and hunting buddies, Toby Batten and Russell Lee.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home with social distancing and mask required.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 10 ^th at 10:00 AM at Lee's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Carter and Rev. Tommy James officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be; Eddie Lee, Michael Ray, Michael Ruis, Bobby Bagley, Jr. and Vincent Wilbanks.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
