Donnie Ray Peacock, age 64, of Alma died at his home Friday evening April 11 ^th , 2014 after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Carroll Monroe Peacock and Etwenda Carter Peacock Martin and was also preceded in death by a brother Roger Peacock.  Donnie had been employed for 25 years with the Bacon County Board of Education over the maintenance department and was a member of New Vision Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Donnie Britt Peacock (Sonya) of Athens, Dillion Ray Peacock (Jenifer) of Alma, a brother, Sammy Peacock of Blackshear, three sisters, Katrina Spivey of Starr, S C, Jean Tanner and Vicky Carter of Alma, four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 o'clock at New Vision Church with Rev. Pet Hayes officiating and a eulogy by James Henry Carter. Interment will follow in Ten Mile Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to the church Monday at 10:00 A M to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be, Roy Newberry, Jeff Lee, George Ball and Don Douglas.  All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
