Donnie Edward Taylor, age 59, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 14, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Eustis, FL on September 03, 1967, to the late Johnny Eastman Taylor and Millie Taylor. He is preceded in death only by his parents.
He grew up with a natural talent for working with his hands—skills that laid the foundation for his lifelong career in construction. Above his professional accomplishments, he cherished his family above all else. He was a devoted husband, an anchor of strength and protector. A loving father and the greatest Papa. He taught his family the value of Jesus in the end and hard work, not just through his words, but by the quiet, steady example he set every single day. His guidance, protection, and humor shaped the lives of everyone blessed to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Trina Taylor; his son, Darren Taylor of Alma; daughters, Briana Taylor (Saul) and Meaghan Gurley (Jarrett), both of Alma; brother, Johnny Wayne Taylor (Robin) of Fitzgerald; special brothers, Andre Brinson, Ricky Giles, and Ricky Gilliard; grandchildren, Bentley and Asher Taylor and Jeb Gurley.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2026, at 2 PM in the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Giles, Joe Boatright and Ricky Gilliard officiating. Interment will follow at the family farm. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 6-8 PM.
Active pallbearers include Andre Brinson, Owen Atha, Ricky “Hipp” Boatright, Andy Batten, Barry Gray, Ricky Gilliard, Michael Taylor, and Wayne Rewis. Honorary pallbearers include Satilla Hospice nurse, Carrie Harrison and all others in attendance.
