Dorcas B. Walker, age 89, of Waycross passed away July 16, 2024 at Coffee Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late John Britt Brigman and Cassie Courson Brigman.

Mrs. Walker was Administrator of Twin Oaks Nursing Home and Admissions Director at Baptist Village until she retired. She was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was the pianist for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J. W. Walker, Jr.; grandson, Trent Trowell; sisters, Edith Vickers, Hazel Altman and Martha Aycock (Billy) and brother, Johnnie B. Brigman. Survivors include her daughter Cindy Trowell and husband David of Waycross.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Beulah Baptist Church with Pastor Clay Thomas and Pastor Matt Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church Monday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Aycock, Andy Aycock, Andy Mattox, Parish Kildow, Aldene Davis and Jay Davis. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
