Obituary

Doretha A. Taylor, age 71, of Alma passed away Wednesday, September 4th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late William Boatright and Idell Crosby Boatright. Doretha was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy B. Foskey and Minnie Boatright brother, James D. (Super) Boatright and one brother- in- law Kelly Sweat . She was a member of Alma United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Hobert Lee Taylor and one son, Anthony Lee "Tony" Taylor (Vicky) of Alma, two grandsons, Matthew and Cole Taylor of Alma two sisters; Joanne Sweat, Patricia White (Ray) of Alma, three brothers, Boatsie Boatright (Juanita) of Blackshear, Ray Boatright (Glenda), Billy Boatright (Wanda) of Alma, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7th at 11:00 AM at the Alma United Methodist Church with Rev. Franklin Peacock, Rev. Tony Crosby and Rev. Stan Long officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 AM to lie state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Curtis Taylor, Ray Carter, Lonnie Mercer, Barrett Boatright, Dane Boatright and Kevin Boatright. Honorary pallbearers will be; Sweet Potatoe Girls, Class mates of 1960, Mary Alice Thompson, Bonnie Williams and Terri Miles.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
