Doris Marie Peacock Carter, age 81, of Alma died Saturday January 28th, 2017 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was a native of Pierce County but had lived in Bacon County most of her life, daughter of the late Ira Peacock and Lillie Mae Thomas Peacock and was a very popular waitress for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years Howard Carter, Sr. of Alma, four step children, five step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, four brothers William Peacock (Alice) of Flora Home, FL, Fred Peacock (Doreen) of Daytona Beach, FL, Norman Peacock (Linda) of Port Orange, FL and Roy Dean Peacock (Connie) of Deland, FL, a sister Brenda Crosby (Quillian) of Palm Coast, FL, several nieces and nephews and life long friends Glen and Glendora Lassiter of Alma.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Rentz officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening between 6 and 8 P M.
Active pallbearers will be Howard Carter, Jr, Cody Carter, Chris Stanfield, Glen Lassiter, Pat Adams and Kevin Moore. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
