Doris Tanner Deen, age 87, of Alma passed away at her residence on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 after a short illness. She was born in Coffee County on June 6, 1931 to the late Ivey Tanner and Minnie Lee Melton Tanner. Her brother, Lamar "Bud" Tanner and three sisters, Mintie Allen, Samantha Allen and Pauline Revels Taylor preceded her in death. She was a member of Wesley Chapel "Wolf Pit" Church.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Vivian Deen of Alma, three children, Donnie E. Deen (Nancy), Pam Bratcher (Melvin) of Alma and Brenda Cleghorn (Milton) of Brunswick, GA., four grandchildren, DeLonda Moore, Konya Carter, Michael Bratcher and Amanda Jordan, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a sister-in law, Alice Kinlaw and a special friend, Vickie Lewis.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 17 th at 11:00 at Wesley Chapel "Wolf Pit" Church with Rev. T. F. Yawn and Rev. Danny Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Ronnie Ellis, Romeo Reyes, Bud Deen, Chuck Peacock, Billy Shores and Jimmy Adams. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
