Dorothy "Dot" Elizabeth Lawrence Taylor , age 99, passed peacefully Monday, August 4, 2025 at Extendicare Health and Rehabilitation Center, Dothan, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2 pm at Crosby Funeral Home with Brother Bruce Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 301 West 9th Street, Alma, Georgia 31510.

Dot was born August 12, 1925 to the late Luther and Mattie Lawrence who later made their home in Baxley, Georgia. After graduating from beauty school she moved to Alma, Georgia where she owned Dot's Beauty Shop for over 50 years. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of First Baptist Church Alma since 1952. She moved to Dothan, Alabama in 2009.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Burtis "Jack" Taylor; a son, Steve Taylor; two brothers, Tom Lawrence and Edgar Lawrence; three sisters, Allene Lasseter Coleman, Maude Boone and Mable Rentz.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Branch (Carol) of Flovilla, Georgia, Jerry Branch (Jimmie) of Dothan, Alabama; six grandchildren, John Branch (Jennie) of Flovilla, Georgia, Doug Branch of Flovilla, Georgia, Jada Branch Barber (Bruce) of Prospect, Tennessee, Stephanie Taylor Steele (David) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Kaitlin Taylor Farrow (Michael) of Watkinsville, Georgia, Emily Taylor Cadwell of Stone Mountain, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Reggie Lasseter, Tommy Lawrence, John Lawrence, Jim Lawrence, John Branch and Doug Branch.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arragements.
