Dorothy Nell Helms, age 74, of Alma died Wednesday February 26th, 2014 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Morgan County Alabama but had lived in Bacon County the past 49 years. Dorothy was daughter of the late Floyd Johnson and Annie B. Derrick Johnson and was also preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Helms, four sisters and a grandchild.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Randall Helms (Cindy), David Christopher Helms (Janice) and Mark Stacey Helms (Carla) of Alma, two daughters, Patricia Owens (Linwood) of Patterson and Sondra Holmes (Danny) of Lacey Spring, AL., a brother, J.E. White of Hartselle, AL., a sister, Chris Pearsall of Stoney Point, NY., 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with services conducted by Richard Medders. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Brian & David Cason, Brandon Helms, Levi Baskin, Shawn Lee and Roy Medders. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
