Dorothy Carnell Giddens McLean, age 84, of Alma passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was born on February 8, 1932 in Pearson, Georgia. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, John Daniel McLean, her parents, Teedom Giddens and Beadie Burch Giddens and several siblings. Her hobbies were sewing, puzzles and taking care of her family.

Survivors include two children, Patricia Gail McLean Williams and husband Joseph Jay Williams, Jr. and Charles Daniel McLean and wife Angela Burkett McLean of Alma, five grandchildren, Jon Mikel Williams and Summer Elizabeth Williams of Athens, Georgia, Dorothy Abigail Williams Hook (Christopher James Hook) and Joel Daniel McLean of Atlanta and Charles Dylan McLean (Kimberly Edwards McLean) of Valdosta, Georgia, two great-grandchildren, J.D. Williams and Bay Williams of Athens, Georgia and one sister, Opal Hodges of Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with eulogies given by her grandsons, Jon Williams and Joel McLean. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday morning at 10:00 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Jon Williams, Joel McLean, Dylan McLean, Bobby Long, Julian Claude Clement and Billy Giddens. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
