Dorothy Rea Bennett Bozzone, who went by “Dotti,” passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones March 21,2026. She was a Bacon County native, born August 12,1970, to surviving parents, Joyce Boatright Bennett and Lawrence Bennett.
After graduating from Bacon County High School in 1988, Dotti attended Georgia College where she obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education in 1993. For over 20 years, she taught elementary school-aged children, touching lives and making a lasting difference.
Dotti was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was known for living life large with a spirit that shined brightly, a generous heart, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. Dotti is a constant reminder to be a light in someone's life and make those around you feel welcome. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to Disney, and of course, the beach.
She is survived by her husband, David Bozzone; children, Braden (Kat) Sommers, Melanie Sommers, and Meredith Sommers; grandson, Soul Sommers; sisters, Lorie (Jimmy) Hyers, Deanna (Devin) Sears, Pam (Chuck) Vonier, and Mandy (Dave) Lee; numerous nieces and nephews, and two stepchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday March 28, 2026, at 11 AM at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Bentley Carter officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the cemetery from 10 AM until service time.
