Obituary

Duane "Duie" Deen, age 77 of Alma died Friday October 9th, 2015 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the Late Rosley E. Peacock and Lillian Rimes Peacock and was preceded in death by her husband Gerald H. Deen. Duie worked with Cohen's Department Store for 19 years and was a member of New Hope S C M Church.

Survivors include her son Robert L. Sapp, Jr. of Alma a daughter Cathy Godwin (Michael) of Alma, two sisters Betty Jean Boatright of Alma Teleen Corti of Livermore, CA, three grandchildren Amy G. Taylor (David) of Alma, Lane G. Lee (Jason) of Alma, Haley Sapp of Middleburg, FL, two great-grandchildren Lacey and London Lee of Alma.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 o'clock at New Hope S C M Church with Rev. Robert Varnadore and Rev. Mark Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will be carried to the church early to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday evening between 6 and 9 P M.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Boatright, Dorsey Wade, Cecil Godwin, Jr., Mike
McNeill, Lonny Whitley and Kenny Murphy. Honorary will be Patrick Jones, Mark Cohen, Jerald and Carole Cohen, Jay Williams, Jr., Kenny Peacock, Sheila Whitley, Quillion Taylor, Lisa Courson, Jamie Murphy, Dr. Clay Carter and Staff and the class of 1955.
