Early Eugene "Gene" Taylor, age 80, of Alma passed away May 23, 2016 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Earlie Taylor and Lennie Buckins Taylor. Gene was preceded in death by two brothers J. C. Taylor and Freddie Lee Taylor and three sisters, Magdelene Williams, Myrtle Missouri Keller and Wanda Faye Taylor. He was a member of Wesley Chapel Congregational Methodist Church and Trustee for several years.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carlene Woods Taylor of Alma, a son, Danny E. Taylor (Stephanie) of AL., four daughters, Kay Steed (Frankie) of Nicholls, Renee Ellison (Robert) and Ramona Jones (Pete) of Baxley and Regina Dyal Bakersfield, CA., one brother, Valine Taylor (Janet) of Falls Church, VA., 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who loves Gene very much.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25th at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. T. F. Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Chris, Dan and Jason Taylor, Heath Carver, Dusty Kinlaw, Seth Keack and Jonathan Boatright. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
