Earnest Grady Barber, age 86, of Alma passed away at his residence on May 26, 2021 after an extended illness. Born in Bacon County on November 16, 1934 to Charles Grady Barber and Earine Byrd Barber. He was preceded in death by his wife Frankie Elizabeth Varnadore Barber; brothers, John M. Barber and Willie Barber; sisters, Ruby Daughtry, Shelvia Jean Smart, Elvie Barber, Shellie Tanner and Louise Smith and a grandson, Logan Tomberlin. He was a member of New Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Roy Barber (Cathy), Diane Thompson and Lisa Tomberlin (Everett) all of Alma; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and special friend, Betty McNeill of Alma. His caregivers were Belinda Brown, Pam Starling and Delama Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. David Barber and Rev. Glenn Bohannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Barber Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Colby Barber, Ridge Barber, Brian Thompson, Brad Taylor, Shon Tomberlin and Padrick Duque. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
