Eddie L. Bishop, age 72, of Alma passed away August 8, 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah after a short illness.

He was born Cairo, GA. on November 2, 1949 but had lived in Bacon County for many years.  He was son of the late Henry Edward Bishop and Sadie Mae Bishop.

Mr. Bishop served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era; was a member of the Alma Lions Club and a member of the Alma First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Mary Kathryn Ammons Bishop of Alma; two sons, Tim Bishop and wife Sherryl of Clayton, NC and Matthew Bishop; two grandchildren, Jaxon and Ella Bishop of Clayton, NC and one brother, Dennis Bishop and wife Marva of Climax, GA.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Alma First Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church Thursday from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Wayne Bridges, Rod Rentz, Danny Stanland, Eugene Dyal, Mike Davis, Wayne Hall and Jimmy McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be; Maranatha Sunday Sunday_School Class and the Lions Club Members.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
