Edker Haywood McDonald, Sr., age 92 of Alma passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017
at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Willacoochee, Georgia to the late Elisha McDonald and Annie Mae Carver Vickers McDonald, besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Sumner McDonald, daughter, Diane Robinson, eight brothers, Wills, Wilburn, T.J. Verdane, Billy, Burnette, Kenneth and Travis McDonald and two sisters, Vonice Strohm and Othalyne Gillis.
Mr. Edker was an expert Pecan Tree Grafter and a member of the Pomegranate Association, member of the V. F. W., a member of Friendship Baptist Church and served in the US Army during WWII.
Survivors include two children, Eddie McDonald (Valerie) and Sandra Orvin of Alma, son-in-law, Lamar Robinson of Ashburn, GA., one sister Bessie Edna Hill of Douglas, GA., five grandchildren, Marty Orvin, Matthew, Mark and Kansas Robinson and Misty Boatright,; also 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Dasiha Rewis of Alma.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 31st at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Honorable Judge Dewayne Gillis officiating.
