Mrs. Edna Smith Boatright, age 88, of Bristol passed away September 13, 2026, after an extended illness. She was born February 6,1938, in Bacon County to Harry Allen Smith and Jewell Dorothy Loper Smith.

Mrs. Boatright was retired from the Bacon County School System after many years of service. She also taught at Coffee Correctional Institution and was a life-long member of Martha Memorial Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James M. Boatright and Alton Boatright, Jr.; brothers, James Harold Smith and John Smith and daughter-in- law, Ginger Boatright. Survivors include her son, Mark Boatright, Melanie Morris (David) and Tammie Smith (Tom) and Anna Boatright; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Boatright will lie in state Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM at her home 1719 Scuffletown Hwy. Bristol, GA.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Martha Memorial Methodist Church with Elder Scott Riner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10 AM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Marty Boatright, Davy Morris, Jonah Boatright, Dawson Lankford, Rusty Boatright, Shelly Davis and Mason Boatright. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
