Edwin O. Sharp, age 80, of Alma passed away Tuesday, December 30th at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Kissimmee, FL. but had lived in Bacon County for the past thirty-seven years. Edwin was son of the late John Henry Sharp and Corine Johnson Sharp and preceded in death by a son, Shan Jackson, Sr. He was retired from McKenzie Tank Lines after thirty-five years.
Survivors include his wife of 37, Gayle Crews Sharp of Alma, a son, David Sharp of Panama City, FL., three daughters, Lana Thomas Lott of Nicholls, Brenda Sharp (Don) of Richmond Hill, Ga. and Robin Sharp of Lawrenceville, Ga., one sister, Rose Lee Barber of St. Cloud, FL. and 4 grandsons, Shanon Grover, Shan Jackson, Jr., Kurt Adams and Jett Lott.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 3rd at 11:00 at Pine Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Rick Crews officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 AM.
Honorary pallbearers will be; Jack Stewart, Kendall Harrell, Wayne Herrington, Kelly Smith, Hugh Howell,Shan Jackson, Jr., Clayton Taylor and Hudson Smith.
