Elaine McKuhen Gilliard, age 74, of Nicholls passed away October 16, 2021 at the Landing of Douglas after an extended illness. Born in Emanuel County on October 18, 1946 to Anthony McKuhen and LeeReta Phillips McKuhen. She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gilliard and sister, Carolyn Smith. Survivors include sons, Mike Gilliard (Melissa) and Tony Gilliard (Helen) of Nicholls; five grandchildren, Justin Gilliard (fiancé' Tabitha Thornton), Tori Foster (Cory), Amanda Gilliard, Amber Miller (Josh) and Brooke Gilliard (Charlie Carlin); two great-grandchildren, Riley and Athena Miller and nephew, Glenn Smith (Diane).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Campbell and Rev. David Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Cory Foster, Justin Gilliard, Josh Miller, Charlie Carlin, Hunter Watson and Ricky Gilliard.

Crosby Funeral will be in charge of arrangements.
