Emmett Trowell, age 73, of Alma passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Bacon County on August 25, 1944 to the late Clyde Trowell and Bessie Mae Mercer Trowell. Two brothers, Cecil and Roy Trowell, a sister, Lucy Trowell, a half brother, Bobby Fales and a brother-in-law, Harold Durrance preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and a member of Wesley Chapel "Wolf Pit" Church.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Carter Trowell of Alma, a brother, Joe Trowell and wife Carolyn of Alma, four sisters, Marie Durrance of Blackshear, Betty Jo Johnson (Roy) of Cumming, GA., Carolyn Durrance (Glenn) of Alabama and Gail Altman (Eugene) of Manchester, GA. and a special cousin, Keeton Lee.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28 ^th at 11:00 AM at Wesley Chapel "Wolf Pit" Church with Rev. Danny Turner and Rev. Pet Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Ken Floyd, Jerry Boatright, Jimmy Lee, Sammy Boatright, Keeton Lee and Bryce Lee. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
