Enzie Vydell Hyers, age 78, of Waycross passed away Monday, October 29th at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Pierce County but had lived in Alma and Waycross for many years. Vydell was the daughter of the late Daniel Everette Moore and Aleph Carter Moore and preceded in death by her husband Eddie LaMorris Hyers. She was a long time faithful member of Alma Tenth Street Church of God.
Survivors include her son, Patrick LaMorris Hyers of Gainesville, FL., a brother, Denney Moore (Lou Ann) of Blackshear, two sisters, Shelba Jean Mullis Bowen (Coye) of Alma and Evelyne Herndon of Blackshear and two grandsons, Enum and Nawin Hyers of Waycross.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 1st at 3:00 PM at the Alma Church of God with Rev. Hulet Smith, Rev. Travis Peavy and Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating. The body will be carried to the church at 2:00 PM to lie in state. Interment will follow in Damascus Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Enum and Nawin Hyers, Rickie Mullis, Ray Moore, Keith Herndon, Jay Milton, Devone Bagwell, David Moore. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
