Ernest Namon Crowder, age 85, of Alma passed away May 28th at Memorial Health in Savannah after a short illness. He was a native of Atlanta Georgia but had lived in Bacon County for many years. Ernest was son of the late P. R. Crowder and Lera Eason Crowder and preceded in by his grandson, Kevin Dan Boatright. He was a member of Alma First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Carlene Wade Crowder, a son, Ronnie Raymond Crowder (Patricia Irene), two daughters, Linda Carlene Boatright (Dan Mack) and Ernesta June Alderman (David Milo) all of Alma, one brother, Donnie Stevie Crowder of Alabama; also 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 31st at 3:00 PM at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Lance Wade and eulogy given by David Alderman. The family will be receiving friends at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church at 2:00 PM until funeral time.
Active pallbearers will be; Ronnie Vance Crowder, Waylon Dan Boatright, David James Alderman, Daniel Paul Alderman, Aaron Timothy Alderman and Grant Ryan Schaffer. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
