Essie L. Boatright, age 91, of Mershon passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at her daughter's residence after an extended illness. Born in Pierce County on January 6, 1930 to Jim Leggett and Molly Carter Leggett. She was a life long member of the New Lacy Church of God.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ron Boatright, three brothers, Toby Leggett, Curtis Leggett and Hovis Leggett and three sisters, Dolly Garvin, Pearl Boatright and Mearl Graham. Survivors include three children, Jimmy Mack Boatright (Henrietta) of Brunswick, Terrell "Porky" Boatright of Mershon and Jeanne "Cookie" Boatright (Roy T., Jr.) of Alma; seven grandchildren, Donnie C. White, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Mershon, and his children, Robert Earl & Reed, Candace Nail (Shane) of Alma and their children, Brooke, Summer, Landon, Kaleb and Ky, Kimberly Wiggins (Jason Pickren) of Brunswick and her daughter, Kera, Jimmy "Bo" Boatright (Brooke) of Brunswick and his children, Erin and William, Mandy Boatright (Clay) of Panama City Beach, FL and her children, Jolee and Maddox, Max Durrance of Lake Park and Lacy Boatright of Alma and her son, Jarett; also several special nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 3:30 PM at Carters Chapel Church Cemetery with Bishop R. B. Gaskins, Rev. Greg Carter and Rev. James Lightsey officiating. Mrs. Essie will lie in state at New Lacy Church of God from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with mask and social distancing.

Active pallbearers will be; Marty Hilton, Max Durrance, David King, Rodney Tapley, Christopher Rogers, Billy Rogers and Richard Boatright. Honorary pallbearers will be; Members of New Lacy Church of God.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
