Etta Mae Meeks, age 92, of Nicholls died at her home Sunday January 25th, 2015 after an extended illness. She was a native of Dale County Alabama but had lived in this area most of her life. She was daughter of the late Alto Thompson and Henrietta Herrin Thompson and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Meeks. Etta Mae was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Meeks of Milledgeville, Ga, Jerod Meeks (Sandra) of St Augustine, FL, a daughter, Wanda O'Brien (John) of Nicholls, 3 grandchildren, Grant O'Brien (Melissa) of New Jersey, Kemberly Mixon (Kevin) of Athens and Steve Meeks (Jill) of St Augustine, Fl.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. T F Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery in Coffee County. Grant O'Brien and Jerod Meeks will deliver eulogies. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening between 6 and 8 P. Active pallbearers will be; James Stewart, Kevin Mixon,Wilton Thompson, Donnie, Steve and Bradley Meeks. All others in attendance will be considered as honorary.
