Evelyn Louise Johnson, age 75, of Nicholls passed away December 28, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was daughter of the late Edward L. Starnes and Grace Whittaker Starnes. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Johnson, Sr.; brother, Cecil Starnes and niece Malinda Anderson. She was a member of the Faith Holiness Church in Nicholls.

Survivors include three children, James Harold Johnson, Jr. and Paul Edward Johnson both of Nicholls and Tammy Adams (Charlie) of Tuscaloosa, AL.; one brother, William L. Starnes, Sr. of Nicholls; one sister, Dorothy L. Miller(Myron) of Jasper, FL; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. David Capps and Rev. Bruce Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Meeks Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Stacey Starnes, Eddie Anderson, Harry Anderson, Herbie Anderson, Kenny Anderson and Billy Starnes. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
