Faye Ann Carter, age 76, of Alma passed away Sunday, August 26th at Mayo Clinic in Waycross after an extended illness. She was a native of Jeff Davis but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. Faye was daughter of the late Kennis Quinn and Maude Summerlin Quinn; was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T. (Junior) Carter, two sisters, Mary Louise Quinn and Janice Quinn Ursery and a niece, Suzanne Quinn. She was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church in Bacon County.
Survivors include her son, Jeffery Carter and wife Konya, a daughter, Pamela Carter Wheeler and husband Donald of Alma, two brothers, Wayne Quinn of Hazlehurst and Winston Quinn of Roanoke Rapids, NC, three sisters, Ardith Quinn, Evelyn Quinn and Judy Clements of Hazlehurst, two grandchildren, McKenzie and Kayden Carter of Alma and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 29th at 4:00 PM at Ten Mile Baptist Church in Bacon County with Bro. Donnie Tuten, Bro. Joseph Lee, Bro. Steve Hughes, Pastor Jimmy Thrift officiating. Gravedside services will be conducted by; Bro. Robert Wiggly and Bro. Bryan Gill. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 3:00 PM to lie in state. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 9 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Adam Deen, Bill & Edward Jordan, Kevin Eason, T-Boy Carter, Brian Dixon, Chris Music and Rodney Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be; Paul, Debra & Jennifer Deen, Mary Jordan, Pete & Verlene Johnson, Debbie Parker, Foster Rowland, Nelda Boatright, Jane Powell, Rev. Edmund Thrift, Rev. Daniel Eason, Rev. Paul Smith, Thelma & Irma Carter, Wesley & Clara Carter, Ann & Jake Stewart, Lenard & Mary Francis Cragio, Debra Bettis, Avilla & Sherry Carter, Cindy Waters, Denise Carter, Melanie Music, Nell Douglas, Lisa Carter and Donald Deen.
