Francisco "Frank" Gonzalez Jr., age 80, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Francisco Gonzalez and Crucita Burgos, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Raquel Freeland. Frank was an avid classic car aficionado, served in the United States Air Force, practiced law in Alma, was a member of the Alma United Methodist Church, and a Mason for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Myrna G. Gonzalez, his son Francisco Gonzalez III (Maribel) of Charlotte, NC, his daughter Valeria Gonzalez-Kerr (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL; a brother,  Edgardo Gonzalez (Pilar) of Ashville, NC; a sister, Ruth Clouser of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Shepard (Jack) of Alma and Rosalind Garcia Arroyo of Waycross; four grandchildren, Frances Zeoli (Joseph), Francheska Gonzalez, Michael Kerr, and Anthony Kerr; two great-grandchildren, Cambria and Brecken Zeoli; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends, with a special mention of Edwin Ramos.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 11 AM with Rev. Allen Hartsfield officiating at the Alma United Methodist Church. The family will be receiving guests at the church from 10 AM until funeral time. A Masonic funeral will follow immediately after the church service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in memory of Frank Gonzalez.
