Francis "Frank" Joseph Charles, age 84 of Alma passed away at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Auburn, New York on November 23, 1931 to Frank Charles and Grace Calpaldi Charles. Frank is preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Charles. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburn, New York and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Annie Louise Clark Charles of Alma, a son, John Charles (Gail) of Greenville, SC., five daughters, Virginia "Ginny" Sisson (Rick) of Hoover, AL., Marle Witacre (Max) of Alma, JoAnne Mann (Joey) of Camden, AL., Theresa Mason (Gary) of Auburn, NY. And Barbara Sinclair (Dwight) of Suffux, VA., one sister, Mary Ann DeMaio of Auburn, NY.; also 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31st at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Sweat officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at 12:00 PM Wednesday until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; John Charles, Rick Sisson, Max Witacre, Joe Mann, Gary Mason and Dwight Sinclair. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
