Gavyn Joseph Lankford, age 13, of Alma departed from this earth Monday, July 1, 2024 from Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

Gavyn resided in Alma, GA most of his life. Attend Bacon County Schools, 2 terms in Waycross, GA.

Gavyn was the son of Joseph Lankford of Atlanta, GA. and Kim Layman of Nicholls. His paternal grandparents, Carleen Karch and Christopher Leggett whom he lived with made his home since 2013.  Gavyn has a sister, Taylor Shiane Lankford age 12 of Nicholls. He is also survived by special aunts and uncles, Randall Lankford, Jr (Amanda) and Misty Ruis (Michael) of Alma; many great aunts and uncles; first cousins, Destiny, Logan, and Caitlyn Lankford, Sierra Stevens, Hunter Lewis, Phillip and Carly Lankford, Kimberly Hall, Wesley Stevens and a special little friend, Katarina Hall; also numerous aunts, uncles and friends. His great grandparents, Carl Williams and Iva Lee Williams and great grandmother, Lucille Schaffer preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery in Dixon Union. The family will be receiving friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

After the funeral service relatives and friends will be meeting at the home of Randall and Amanda Lankford 1719 W. 12th Street Alma, Georgia 31510 for a meal.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
