George Sears, age 74, of Alma passed away suddenly Monday, December 29th at the Bacon County Hospital. He was a native of Bacon County, son of the late Bill "E.L." Sears and Claudia Tanner Sears and preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Jack Sears, niece, Shelia Vickers and a nephew, Grant Nobles. George served in the US Army.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Beverly Greene Sears, two sons, George Devin Sears (Deanna) and Rodney Scott Sears, daughter, Judy Conner (Michael) all of Alma, two brothers, Billy Sears (Sue) of Newnan, GA and Joe Sears (Sylvia) of Alma, two sisters, Johnnie Faye Beckert of Alma and Jeannie Wade (Ralph) of St. Simons, Island, GA., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 1st at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Crosby and Rev. Randy Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Lee's Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Bobby Hue Sears, Barry & Spence Nobles, Rusty Sears, Colby Moore, Josh Ellis, Jake Dillingham and Bill Hyers. Honorary pallbearers will be; The Hardee's Breakfast Club.
