George Yearty, age 70, of Alma passed away suddenly October 29, 2020 at his residence.  Born on May 23, 1950 in Telfair County to Rev. Bennie Yearty and Irene Phillips Yearty. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bennie Ivan Yearty and Randy Yearty.

Mr. George was retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of New Vision Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lynette Ellis Yearty of Alma, GA., two children, Jason Yearty of Hazlehurst, GA. and Angela Yearty of White Plains, GA., three grandchildren, Morgan, Samuel and Sara Kate Yearty of Hazlehurst, GA., and his sister, Elaine Nall (Buck) of Jesup, GA.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Wolf Pit Cemetery with Rev. Doug Barber officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Honor of Mr. George to the charity of your choice.

Honorary pallbearers will be; Kudzu Krew, Class of 1968, Allen Johnson Sunday School Class, CSX Carmen and the Tuesday Morning Golf Crew.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
