Gladys Boatright Lee, age 75, of Alma passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born in Effingham County on October 18, 1943 to the late Marvin Tanner, Sr. and Thirsie Richardson Tanner. Her husband of 36 years, Voughna "Barney" Boatright and four brothers, Eugene Tanner, Warren Tanner, Lonnie Tanner and Marvin Tanner, Jr, preceded her in death. She was a member of the New Hope Southern Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lee of Alma, two children, Bill Boatright (Deneana) of Alma and Lisa Boatright Austin (Randy) of Jesup, GA., three step children, Chad Lee (Patricia), Chris Lee (Leann) and Julie Brown (Stacey) all of Alma, two brothers, Donnie Tanner and Ronnie Tanner of Hazlehurst, GA. two sisters, Faye Cothern and Connie Walls (Kendall) of Hazlehurst, GA., 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5 ^th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Varnadore and Rev. Tommy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening between 6 and 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; James Jordan, Chris Stewart, Joe Stewart, Jeffery Stewart, Steve Thompson, Dewayne Walsh and John Stewart. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
