Obituary

Gladys Bryant Taylor, age 66, of Alma pass away Thursday at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Appling County but had lived in Bacon County most of her life. Gladys was the daughter of the late Marcus C. Bryant and was preceded in death by a sister, Gearldine Bryant, a grandchild, Josuah Lawton Phillips and a son in law, Timothy Phillips.

Survivors include her mother, Mary Lolies Ellis of Jesup, husband of 47 years, Joseph Taylor of Alma, three sons, Charles Randall Bryant (Tammy), Joseph Lawton Taylor, Jr. and Jamie Scott Taylor (Rebecca), one daughter, Lisa Ann Phillips all of Alma, five brothers, Marvin Bryant (Brenda) of Gallipolis, OH., Charles Bryant (Darlene), Ricky Bryant (Pearl) and, Kenny Bryant all of Jesup and Michael Ellb (Alona) of Columbus, OH., six sisters, Glenda Vickery (Willis) of Macon, Pat Wray of Gallopolis, OH., Lawanda Bryant of Macon, Martha Nesmith of Mt. Vernon, Ga. Sybil Harris (Roger), Marilyn Bryant (Mickey Carter) of Jesup also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 25th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Music officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 PM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers will be; Phillip Thompson, Scott Taylor, Trevor Williams, William Merritt, Terry Meeks and Jimmy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be; ICU Staff at Bacon County Hospital.

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
