Gladys Gowan Teston, age77, of Nicholls died suddenly Thursday night June 13th, 2013 at her home after a short illness. She was a native of Forest City, N C but had lived in Nicholls since 1963. She was daughter of the late Wallace Gowan and Dullie Gilbert Gowan and was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Teston, three brothers and four sisters. Gladys was a member of Faith Holiness Church of Nicholls.

Survivors include a son, Jasper Ray Teston (Angel) of Waycross, two daughters, Dianna Powell and Linda Thompson of the State of South Carolina, two brothers, Albert and Paul Gowan both of Lincolnton, N C, three grandchildren, Sherrell Powell of South Carolina, Tammala Teston of Madison, FL, Charity Teston of Dallas, TX, one great-grand, Bethanny Linsey of Dallas, TX, two step grandchildren, Dakota Douglas of Waycross, Patience Douglas of Jacksonville, three step great grandchildren, Veronika, Leland and Dominick Douglas all of Waycross.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at Faith Holiness Church of Nicholls with Rev. David Capps, Sister Regena Capps and Sister Beuleatha Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery in Nicholls. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening between 6 and 9 P M. The body will be carried to the church Tuesday at 1:00 P M to lie in state.

Active pallbearers will be, Ronald and Robert McMillian, Herold Taylor, Eddie Johnson and Dakota Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be, Carlis and Laverne Meeks, Lamar and Carol Carter, Jeff and Donna Bayard, Jan Scott, Staff of Nicholls Pharmacy, Johnny and Linda Nails and all others in attendance.
