Obituary for Glenda Dale Strickland

Glenda Dale Strickland, age 70, formerly of Alma but had lived in Jesup the past 19 years passed away at Bacon County Hospital on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 after a short illness. Dale was born in Alma, Georgia on August 19, 1947 to Benjamin (B.V.) V. Hyde and Emma Louise Douglas Byrd. Two husbands, Hoyt Boatright and Audrey Strickland and a son James Franklin Boatright preceded her in death. Dale was retired as a Registred Nurse after 35 years.

Survivors include three children Ben Boatright, Kim Hutchenson, of Alma, GA. andJennie Dowling (Mitchell) of Blackshear, GA. three sisters, Gale Smith (Penny) of Brunswick, GA., Faynell Humphreys (Nelson) of Pace, FL. and Brenda Nichols of Brazoria, TX., 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM with James Lightsey & Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be; Billy Hutchenson, Toby Reeves, Carl Houston, Alex Medders, Wade Douglas and Cody Lunsford. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.
