Glenda Sue Jones Mattox, age 80, of Alma passed away at her residence in Pierce County on Saturday, December 19, 2020 after a short illness.  She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late George Jones and Ora Lee Boatright Jones and was preceded in death by her husband J. Walter Mattox and a brother Jerry Jones. Glenda was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Pierce County.

Survivors include a son Jay Mattox (Gloria) of Alma, a daughter Kay Mattox (Larry) of Alma, two brothers Spencer Jones (Betty) of Alma, Howard Jones (Eunice) of Mershon, a dear friend Margaret Hyers of Pierce County, seven grandchildren, Michael Carter (Kristi) of Westgreen, Leve Boatright (Dara) of Alma, Lara Carter (Colby Barber) of Alma, Wesley Mattox of Alma, Lee Dusterieck (Steven) of Blackshear, Billy Chancy and Jeremy Crews also eight great-grandchildren and a special companion, Bella survive.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P M at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Matt Tuttle and Rev. Loren Bryant officiating.  The family will be receiving friends at Beulah Baptist Church Tuesday from 11:00 A M until 12:45 P M.

Active pallbearers will be Leve Boatright, Michael Carter, Jerome Jones, Johnny Allen, Tommy Peacock and Wesley Mattox.
