Mr. James Glynn Parker, age 87, of Alma passed away October 13, 2023 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Bacon County and son of the late Jasper Cephus Parker and Bertha Leona Taylor Parker. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Tuten, Wilma Coates, Kathern Parker, Velma Skinner, Helen Hurst and Peggy Parker, son –in-law, Gary Holton and great-grandson, Rhett Raulerson.

Mr. Glynn was owner and operator of Parker Food Mart for many years and a member of Alma First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Deborah (Debbie) R. Johnson Parker; four children, Lynn Parker Holton, Dan Parker (Michelle), Julie Parker Lee and Tom Parker; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. Personal eulogy will be given by Paul DeCarlo. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be; Keith Holton, Garrett Holton, Matt Parker, Chip Lee Ethan Parker and Ben Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be; Big Brothers Sunday School Class, Jerry D. Taylor and Paul DeCarlo.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
