Mr. Grady Lee Cothern, age 78, of Alma passed away February 15, 2025 at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Bacon County on January 22, 1947 to the late E. D.  Cothern and Minnie Moore Cothern.

Mr. Cothern served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was also retired from Hazlehurst Mills after many years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robby Cothern, two brothers, Hubert Cothern and Eugene Cothern and a sister, Lucille Cothern Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Delane Carter Cothern, two children, Jeff Cothern and Pamela Gracie Moore husband Brian of Alma; six grandchildren, Sierra Davis husband James, Jordan Moore, Joshua Moore, Nick Cothern, Mason Cothern and Maura Cothern; one great-grandson, James Henry Davis and three sisters, Louise Cothern Lamb of Alma, Helen Cothern McCartle husband Cliff of Texas and Faye Cothern Jarrard of Florida.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Campground Church with Rev. Hal Jeffcoat, Rev. Kevin Tanner and Rev. Roger Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.

Active pallbearers will be Mason Cothern, Nick Cothern, Jordan Moore, Joshua Moore, Joey Anderson and Jason Ely. Honorary pallbearers will be John Worth, Barney Taylor, Chris Moore, Daniel Towns, Julian Lewis, Donnie Jo Rigdon, Kelly Serafini, Lamar Carter and Hance Anderson.

Crosby Funeral will be in charge of arrangements.
