Grady Wood, age 67, of Clayton, North Carolina passed away Sunday (May 21, 2017) at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Hazlehurst, Georgia to the late Dewey Wood and Maude Lee Jeffcoat Wood. Grady lived in Alma several years but had been living in Clayton, North Carolina the past 22 years. He was a Supervisor for AAR Corporation in Goldsboro, NC. for several years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Shawn Wood, three brothers, D. L. Wood, Ricky Wood and Rodney Wood, and a sister, Virginia Kuehner.

Survivors include two children, Jared Wood of Alma and Keasha Shamone Conner (Jamey) of Alma, three brothers, Billy Creamer (Lillian) of Hazlehurst, David Wood (Shelia) of Clayton, NC. and Johnny Wood (Tammy) of Brunswick, GA., four sisters, Carolyn Towns of Waycross, Catherine Moorefield of Clayton, NC., Patricia Carter (Rodney) of Alma and Michelle Herndon (Jerry) of Waycross, two grandchildren, Marcus Sellers (Marie) and Shae Sellers; also a special life long friend, Debra Davis of Cochran, GA.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 25th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Scotty Herndon officiating and eulogies by Cory Wood, Shae Sellers and Nathan Buttgen. Burial will follow in Meeks Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be; Cory Wood, Kevin Wood, Ricky Wood, Michael Wood, Brandon Hayes and Rev. Scotty Herndon.
