Harry "Billy" Stallings, age 74, of Alma passed away August 7, 2023 at his sons' residence in Appling County after an extended illness. He was born February 26, 1949 in Appling County but had lived many years in Bacon County. He was son of the late John Henry Stallings and Emma Mae Thornton Stallings and preceded in death by four brothers, Johnny Stallings, Doc Stallings Edwin Barber and Cordel Stallings and six sisters, Shirley Ely, Mamie Crapps, Estell Cook,  Merlene Hutto, Joyce Faye Beckworth and Jeanne Medders.

Mr. Stallings was owner and operator of Stallings Welding for many years and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Vivian Thompson Stallings of Alma; four children, Freddy Lee Stallings (Rena) of Baxley, Harriett Newbrough (Bobby), Paula Michelle Brunell (Alan) and Vanessa Dickson (Carlton) all of Alma; brother, Curtis Stallings (Linda) of Baxley; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Wilson and Bro. Andy Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Michael Stallings, Sam Beckworth, Carroll Disharoon, Brad Disharoon, Ron Ely and Joseph Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be; Georgia Hospice Care Staff, Ricky and Randy Branch, Danny Johnson and Phelan Thompson.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
