Hazel Mattox Lee, age 95, of Alma passed away on April 24, 2022 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Walter Davis Mattox and Ora Lee Williford Mattox and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cohen Lee; two sisters, Faye Peacock and Ruth Gaskins, brother J. Walter Mattox and great-granddaughter, Angel Brooke Wade.

Mrs. Hazel was a lifelong member of the Alma Tenth Street Church of God and was retired from Oxford South after 32 years of employment.

Survivors include three children, Denney C. Lee (Jeanne), Joe Anthony (Tony) Lee and Lynette Moore (David); brother, Joey Mattox of Alma; two sisters, Jean Allen (Quitman) of Alma and Judy Williams (Richie) of Baxley; also 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28 th at the Alma Tenth Street Church of God from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 29 th at 11:00 AM at Alma Tenth Street Church of God with Pastor Travis Peavy, Pastor Mark Grimes and Pastor Randy Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Old Pine Grove Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be; Ricky Howell, Scott Beck, Jonathan Moore, Dusty Lee, Houston Brantley, Collin Brantley, Chase Mobley, Aaron Wade, Fischer Bolden, and Jake Kinlaw. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
