Obituary

Herbert Marshall Kimmons 68 of Mershon passed away Thursday October 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his wife and two children. He fought a courageous battle of cancer for almost 5 years. Born on August 6, 1953 in Bacon County to the late Herbert Clay and Lucille (Byrd) Kimmons. He lived all of his life in Pierce County.

Graduated 1972 from Patterson High School and worked for Rayonier in Jesup for 43 years until his health forced him to retire. He also dearly loved farming, old westerns, drag racing, mechanics, and could fix just about anything.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years Jan Bennett Kimmons, two children Clay (Hannah Anderson) Kimmons of Mershon and Caitlyn (Jake) Ball of Mershon. Three grandchildren Easton and Everett Kimmons of Mershon and Ava Kate Ball of Mershon.  Two sisters Beverly (Foy) Thomas Jesup and Marilyn (Gerald) Henderson of Valdosta. Three brother-in-laws Jereal (June) Bennett of Patterson, Jerry, and Reggie (Letecia) Bennett of Bristol. Two sister-in-laws Jeanie (Miller) Henderson of Bristol and Joyce (Mikell) Griffis of Patterson. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was a member of Bristol Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at Mershon Cemetery with Pastors Brett Howell and RC James officiating Sunday October 31, 2021, at 2PM. Condolences can be made to Hospice of South Georgia, Inc or to the Bristol Baptist Church building fund.

Crosby Funeral home of Alma was in charge of all arrangements.
