Hilda Boatright Johnson, age 79, of Alma passed away Tuesday, November 12th at her son's home in Toccoa, Georgia after a short illness. She was a native of Appling County but had lived most of her life in Bacon County. Hilda was daughter of the late Millard Boatright and Lillie Mae Cauley Boatright; preceded in by her husband Dewitt Johnson, sister, Valera Plemmons and brother, Harold Watson. She was retired from Satilla REMC after 45 years of service and a member of Alma First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Steve Johnson and wife Teresa of Toccoa, GA., two brothers, Gene Boatright (Ramona) of Sylvester, GA., and Larry Boatright (Rose) of Baxley, one sister, Helen Crummey (Gerald) of Kingsland, GA., two granddaughters, Kristi Simmons of Toccoa, GA. and Kylie Smith (Ryan) of Royston, GA., two great-granddaughters, Natalie & Lauren Simmons of Toccoa GA., and special friend, L.A. Varnadore of Alma.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 16th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Lee and Rev.Eric Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday at the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until funeral time.
