Hudson Ray Smith, age 56, of Alma passed away suddenly on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the Bacon County Hospital. He was born in Bacon County on March 21, 1963 and was son of the late Grooms Earl Smith.

Hudson was Owner and Operator of Smith and Son Trucking and a member of the Alma United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Angie Crosby Smith, his mother, Susan McCrea Smith, children Trenton Smith (Megan) and Miranda Leggett (Justin), sisters Robin Smith and Melissa Matthews (Terry) all of Alma, father and mother –in-law, McCoy and Nadine Crosby of Alma, brother and sister-in law, Steve Crosby (Paula) of Douglas, three grandchildren, Grayson Ray Smith, Amelia Lynn Smith and Landry Levi Leggett, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9 ^th at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Hartsfield and Rev. Randy Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas Family Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 PM.

Active pallbearers will be; Chris Lee, Trevor and Brody Matthews, Matthew Lee, Clint and Cody Crosby. All others in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Crosby Funeral will be in charge of arrangements.
