Obituary

Ida Mae Williams, age 92, of St. Mary's passed away at her home on September 5, 2025, after an extended illness. She was born on August 29, 1933, in Nicholls, GA to the late Raymond Barnes and Hattie Mae Taylor Barnes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Williams, Sr; one brother, Harold Barnes; two sisters, Vera Welch and Mary Oxford.

She was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church in St Mary's.

Survivors include her son Robert Hinton Williams, Jr. (Betty Ruth) of St. Mary's, her daughter Elizabeth Williams Tison of Woodstock, brother Raymond W. Barnes (Jeanne Clark) of Wadley, Alabama, sisters Martha Holland of St. Mary's, Velma Rowell of Kingsland, and Tiny Shaw (Terry) of St. Mary's, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11 A.M. with Mark Barnes officiating and eulogy by Raymond Barnes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow at Meeks Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Alex Williams, Michael Barnes, Zach Martin, Darren Shaw, Matt DiMare, Paul Toa, Jody Barnes, and Doug Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers will be all in attendance

Crosby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
